Hmm, what to do, what to do? said the female imp to no one in particular as she flapped invisibly down the hallway.
The Mayor would say experiment on them. Which, to be fair, I am doing. Besides, where’s he been lately? Dargentu Vheed isn’t the type to just forget about things. Something must be awfully important to keep him away from his fear research. Or maybe he’s afraid to come back. That
would be funny.
But what though? He said he was going below. He would have come by on his way back up. I guess he could have teleported back to the Manor. Except that can’t be it. Teleportation doesn’t work between planes, otherwise every devil in the Nine Hells would just move to Westcrown.
Could Szasmir have gotten him? That’s crazy, he’s still locked up. Or, he was locked up last I sa him, which isn’t exactly the same thing. Did these mortals let him out? I might have more things to write about in the fear journal. The big one is probably stubborn enough to fight, poor sod. The angry one will probably fight until one of them dies. I bet the tiefling will run. They’re mostly a coward race. Oh, I can’t wait to see that happen.
But, Dargentu could take a bearded devil with ease. He made the Outcast King, after all. Which is a particularly brutal thing to do to a devil, by the way, since we don’t have a natural lifespan. That poor wretch is always going to be transformed into a horrible mockery of his former self. Hmm.
“Afraid of sadist Mayor Dargentu Vheed – Livia” I don’t know that I’d ever really thought of it before. I mean, it’s normal to be afraid of your Master, after all, but I’d grown used to that fear. I think I’m only noticing it now that it’s gone. Maybe he’s really not coming back. Damn. and Damn again.
Lifting her bleeding finger, Livia makes one final entry before closing the Book of Fear and rejoining the group.
“Terrified of Him who waits within, slayer of Wind-Duke Xenon, Master of Hellfire, and Lord of the Pit – Livia”
