As the sun set, it’s rays shone down upon the city of Absalom, highlighting the entire city, from the alleys of the Puddles to the spires of the Arcanamirium in orange. Taking a short break from paperwork detailing the latest findings of Pathfinders across a dozen countries, Venture Captain Ailyn Ghontasavos set her quill into the inkwell and stretched.
Looking around the wood panelled room, she thought about the many years she had worked in the office. While many of the objects in the office meant a great deal to her, the office in the Grand Lodge had never been as comfortable as her previous home.
As regarded the orange tones of the sunset, a small creature flew through the doorway into her office. With wings beating so quickly that they formed a blue blur behind her, the sylph moved over to the Venture Captain, who merely raised an eyebrow at the unexpected entrance. The delicate, beautiful creature was clearly agitated about something.
“Darling, it will all be fine. Have some tea, and tell me about it.” spoke Ailyn, as she deftly poured tea into a cup no bigger than a thimble for her guest, and placed it on a saucer.
“It’s the Aohl, which you said wouldn’t be moved, but it has been moved, and it’s not in Cheliaz, it’s been moved to Piren’s Bluff, which used to be Cheliax but is now claimed by Andoran. I guess that’s true of all of Andoran, really, but the Andorans have an army there, and it’s not a whole big army, but it’s a small army, and anyway it’s there and the small army is there and the Chelish army isn’t.”
Venture Captain Ghontasavos’s eyes widened with the shocking news, but the tea stayed perfectly still. “You are sure? I would be very upset if this were a mistake”
Unconsciously, the sylph nodded vigourously as she fluttered backward to the other side of the test. “YepyepyepWeevenaskedtwice, andthenallthefollowupquestionsandthosewereansweredaswell”
Setting down the tea, Venture Captain Ghontasavos spoke to the sylph a final time. “Enjoy the tea, then notify the Decemvirate. I’ll deal with this myself”.
